Gus (Ghassan) Sader is President and CEO of Sader Hospitality Worldwide. A published international hospitality expert who has received numerous top hospitality awards, Mr. Sader specializes in financial review, receivership, and asset turnaround for hotels, resorts, and restaurants. With over 45 years experience in hospitality management, Mr. Sader previously worked in seven countries for hotel groups such as Hilton, Hyatt Regency and Omni Hotels. They also reveal the primary motivations that drive the adoption of EMS – mainly, reducing energy costs – as well as the most enticing features, such as real-time monitoring to prevent unforeseen bill increases.
We’ve all heard the axiom “You can’t manage what you don’t measure.” This is particularly true when it comes to managing energy – the information contained in your monthly invoice is simply not sufficient for successfully controlling your energy costs and usage.
In the past, getting better visibility into energy meant a complicated installation process with metering devices, data loggers, internet cables, power adapters and contractors. I previously had responsibility for more than 1,000 assets and I know what a headache installation can be, and how easily it can fall to the bottom of our "to-do" list.
