Energy Management Software - Use It or Lose It

Eight years ago, our long-term customer ING Clarion predicted that “going green (would not be) a trend, but a way to build and invest for the future”. The most recent USGBC Green Building Facts reinforces their position as an industry thought leader, because this year, it is estimated that 40-48% of new nonresidential construction will be green, equating to a $120-145 billion opportunity[1]. Various studies have shown that “green" buildings offer substantial cost savings, better health, and enhanced productivity among other increasingly apparent economic, social and environmental benefits. Recent research from companies like Ecova echo that view, wherein the basic premise is that "more companies are using energy management" systems and software.

An effective energy management software strategy is thus a core component of harvesting green benefits. In other words, useit (energy management software), or lose it (savings/energy/benefits.)

Energy efficiency and retrofits present the keys to going green.

A good case study can be made of  Tower Plaza One in Denver. Together with other savings initiatives, the implementation of MACH's energy management software, the 22-story office building cut down its energy consumption by 2.3 million KW. Installing MACH's software essentially allowed the building managers to better understand, monitor, measure and control building energy expenditures. In doing so, other improvements can more confidently deliver the green results, enhancing the building’s benchmarked performance.
